Program Objectives: - Improve Service Quality at fixed and outreach immunization sites by addressing interpersonal communication, wait times, service hours, and treatment by healthcare workers.
- Enhance Caregiver Experience by developing culturally and gender-responsive interventions that address trust, misinformation, and negative perceptions around vaccines and side effects.
- Increase Vaccine Uptake through improved counseling, targeted community engagement, reducing missed opportunities and practical service adaptations that consider mobility, language, and cultural context.
- Build a Strategic Framework to address demand-side barriers specific to mobile and migrant communities, particularly Pashto-speaking families, with scalable, cost-effective solutions.
- Generate Evidence for the effectiveness, feasibility, and cost-benefit of tested interventions to inform broader health system integration and policy adoption.
Eligibility & Partnership Requirements: Organizations submitting proposals should meet the following criteria: - Demonstrated Expertise: Proven experience in immunization service delivery in Pakistan, behavioral science and/or social and behaviour change interventions, or public health programming. Experience in Sindh and Karachi an asset.
- Local Engagement and Networks: Strong partnerships with UC, District and provincial health departments, NGOs, and community-based organizations to ensure effective implementation.
- Technical Capacity: Ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative research, test interventions, and scale effective strategies.
- Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Systems: Established methodologies for tracking impact, gathering community feedback, and adapting programs based on findings.
- Communication and Dissemination: Demonstrated ability to communicate findings and learnings clearly for wider adoption and dissemination, particularly within the public health sector.
- Sustainability and Scalability: Proposals should outline strategies for long-term integration into government or donor-supported programs.
- Innovation and Creative Problem-Solving: Proposals should demonstrate the ability to apply innovative, contextually relevant approaches to address persistent service quality and trust barriers in immunization. This includes the use of novel methodologies, tools (e.g., AI, human-centered design), or frameworks that challenge conventional service delivery models.
- We also strongly encourage proposals where the lead organization is from a Gavi-eligible country.
We welcome submissions from consortia of multiple organizations combining complementary strengths and expertise. Partnerships between local implementers with contextual knowledge and specialized design or research firms are particularly encouraged.
